5 Ways To Speed Up Recovery After Your Workout Session

Maximising your time at the gym or during your other workout sessions is a must if you want to see the benefits, but you must never overlook your recovery. You need time to rest, and your body needs time to repair itself, especially after an intensive session focussing on specific areas of your body.   1. Eat something. You should aim to eat something within an hour after the end of your workout to refuel your body and restore your energy levels. Foods rich in complex carbohydrates and high-quality protein are a must, as these will strengthen your body and prepare you for your next workout challenge. Focus on carb-rich fruits such as apples, bananas, and grapefruit, as well as such foods as oatmeal, cereal, and wholemeal bread.
